1.
Can I use more than one POK on the same computer?
|
Yes. There are two different scenarios:
1. You can have one USB dongle with two or more foot controllers.
If you are using one dongle with two foot controllers, the foot controllers perform identical functions, like having one foot controller in two places.
2. You can use two or more USB dongles with two or more foot controllers.
If you are using two dongles with two foot controllers, they are independent of each other and can have different functions, like having two different POKs on the same computer.
Note that POK Editor can only see one POK dongle at a time. When you want to program or change a profile on one of the POKs, remove the other USB dongles.

3.
None of the buttons on my POK are working. What can I do?
|
|
Load the POK Editor Software.
If you get an error message saying that the POK cannot be found:
Check that the USB dongle is plugged into a USB port. on the computer or on a USB hub.
Do not plug the USB dongle into a keyboard-based USB port or hub. Verify that your USB port is functioning by plugging in a different USB device as a test.
If you do not get an error message when loading the POK Editor Software:
Press a POK button and check if the yellow LED (located on the far right hand side) on the footswitch lights up. If it does, you need to pair up the footswitch with USB receiver.
If no LEDs light up when you press any button, check or replace the batteries with known good ones.
If the red LED lights up, check or replace the batteries with know good ones.
If none of these tests works, contact technical support.

4.
Some of the POK buttons work, but not all.
|
|
Check that the POK is loaded with the correct profile. With pok Editor, verify that the key assignments are in the POK profile.
Press the same key assignments with your computer keyboard to verify your application responds as you expect.
If it does not, refer to your application documentation to find the correct key assignments and functions, and program them into the POK, (always test with the computer keyboard).
If the application does work as expected when you use the computer keyboard, and the correct assignments are in pok Editor, make sure you did write the profile to the POK hardware, with the write button.
Although the profile can be saved loaded from disk, the POK itself is not loaded with the profile until you press the write button.
If you suspect a defective button on the POK, contact tech support.

5.
How long will the batteries last?
|
The POK can operate on the same set of batteries for months.
How long the batteries last depends on what kind of batteries you use,
how much you use the POK, and how old the batteries are.
Note: If you plan on storing the POK for extended periods, it's best to remove the batteries.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?
|
Yes. Rechargeable nickel-cadmium (NiCad) and nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH)
AA-size batteries can be used in the POK, as well as non-rechargeable lithium
and non-rechargeable alkaline batteries. How long the batteries last will depend
on how much you use the POK and how old the batteries are.
Do not mix battery types.
